transmission or clutch? :(

merle got to check it out. turns out the guy built my 1835 with only a 4 dowl crank instead of 8. merle is gonna get her all set up right. even talked about just going with the larger sump instead of the elaborate full flow since i'm not racing.

On that note, anyone want to buy a full flow set-up? in/out oil pump, filter, bypass (175 degree)? i don't even remember what i paid for it all, so if your interested, just callout what you think is a fair price.

Back in Ghia land

Been a busy bee and the site/my PC hasn't been cooperating.

Anyway seems to be working now on all accounts.

Last week coming home from a long trip she died on me. Being late at night and travel for 2days just had her towed home

Was sure it was the coil, so replaced and no luck. Further troubleshooting diag'd it was condenser in the dist. Friend recommended going with a Pertronix electric conversion. Bit the bullet and she fired right back up. Seems easier to start and feels better.

Need to adjust the timing. Still seems to run a little on the hot side, but the dieseling after turning off (thread in tech) seems to be better.

Another little battle came about after driving around; start hearing some loose something noises from the driver front tire. Did the 6&12 check for the bearings and there was some play. Tightened up the driver side and while putting that side back together got my finger stuck between the spokes and caliper,,,,, OUCH!!!! Nearly took off the finger, completely black and blue, nail will most likely fall off. Hate to see what it would look like if I hadn't been wearing gloves.

So while I sit her typing with 9 digits I still need to tighten up the passenger side. Another day.

I wish I could make it to any of the get togethers but you guys keep scheduling stuff on top of my other stuff!!!!

Oh well. Hope to catch up with you one of these days. I need some local VW help!!
